In 2021-22, GDP is expected to rise at 8.9% rather than 9.2%.

According to the second advance national income estimates released on Monday, India's gross domestic product (GDP) will grow at 8.9% in 2021-22, down from 9.2% previously estimated, with year-on-year growth in the October to December 2021 period falling to 5.4 percent from 8.5 percent the previous quarter.

Manipur's phase 1 elections were marred by violence, with a turnout of over 78 percent.

On Monday, violence marred the first phase of elections for 38 of Manipur's 60 Assembly constituencies, with 78.03 percent of the state's 12.09 lakh voters casting ballots by 5 p.m. Officials indicated the number was likely to rise once information from all remote polling locations were received. In February, GST receipts increased by 26% over the pre-COVID-19 level.

The Finance Ministry reported that gross goods and services tax (GST) income in February was 26 percent higher than pre-pandemic levels, at 1,33,026 crore. The collections are up 18% from February 2021, and it's the fifth time since July 2017 that GST revenues have surpassed Rs. 1.30 lakh crore.
