In Hyderabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi: The Prime Minister is in the state capital to dedicate the 'Statue of Equality,' which honours Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya of the 11th century, and to kick off ICRISAT's 50th anniversary celebrations. Though the Telangana Chief Minister's Office informed the Prime Minister's Office that the Chief Minister will be absent from the PM's engagements due to a fever, his detractors and political observers believe there is more to it than that.

Officials stated on Saturday that the Delimitation Commission has proposed an overhaul of assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir in its draught report, which has been sent to five associate members from the Union Territory for their input.According to them, the extensive study proposes redrawing the Anantnag Parliamentary seat to include Rajouri and Poonch from the Jammu area, as well as major revisions in the Kashmir division.

Habba Kadal, a traditional bastion of migrant Kashmiri pandits, is one of the assembly seats that has vanished from the previous Jammu and Kashmir state. Except for the Srinagar district's Khanyar, Sonwar, and Hazratbal assembly seats, all other seats have been redesigned and combined, with new assembly seats such as Chanapora and Srinagar South being created, according to officials.
