Focus on regional language education, new digital university, and skill courses announced in the Union Budget 2022

Union Budget Education Sector 2022-23: Finance Minister Nirmala Sidharaman proposed the construction of a digital university to enable Indian students with access to world-class education while presenting the Union Budget 2022. This year's budget also included a focus on digital learning, citing the impact of protracted school closures on kids' academic performance.

The minister also stated that the digital university will offer courses in all regional languages, forming a "hub and spoke" network. The university will collaborate with the country's other core universities to offer the necessary digital infrastructure and training.

Agri education is also a priority for the government. The finance minister emphasised that agricultural university curricula be revised to satisfy the needs of natural, zero-budget, and organic farming, as well as modern-day agriculture.

To assist students in rural and semi-urban areas, new e-learning material delivery platforms will be launched via the internet, television, and smartphones. When announcing the scheme, the minister focused on "1 class 1 TV channel."


The Reserve Bank of India is preparing to launch a digital rupee based on blockchain technology.

The central bank will deploy a digital rupee based on blockchain and other technology in 2022-23, according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who presented her fourth budget today.

"The digital economy will benefit greatly from the introduction of central bank digital currency. Digital currency would also be a more cost-effective and efficient method of currency administration "Today, Ms Sitharaman stated.

"As a result, it is planned that the Reserve Bank of India will issue a digital rupee, based on blockchain and other technologies, beginning in 2022-23," she stated.

India announces 1.67 lakh new cases and 1,192 deaths in Covid-19
